My Keynote Speech at EMF Gala helps Raise $80,000

At the 2023 Expect Miracles Foundation (EMF) Gala, EMF Executive Director Frank Heavy used me as an example in one of his speeches noting that an EMF supporter (me) was recently diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma and needed hope and a miracle.

Just 1 year later, I was honored to be asked and physically and emotionally able to give the keynote speech at the 2024 Expect Miracles Foundation Boston Gala. I was in awe as the 400 attendees in the room raised over $80,000 on the spot for cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and SAMFund Grants to help young adult cancer survivors.

I was also bestowed the Lonnie Award alongside Dave Catania, my friend from my very first Fordham days way back in 1995 when we both participated in the Urban Plunge volunteer program. Dave is a dedicated EMF supporter who works for Burke Distributing, and his popular tiki parties have raised over $$$$. Check out some pictures below from the EMF 2024 Boston Gala - first 4 photos in the gallery taken by Evelyn Dow with the last 2 taken by Allie Joseph.
